EUROPE 2 / Radio St: TROPEZ

"Give local talent a chance on the air-waves".

This message was heard by a friend of mine and he immediately telephoned the radio station looking for information on my behalf. He then contacted me at the TMS studio announcing that he’d made a rendezvous for me at the Europe 2 radio station and that I should take along some demos.

I finally got him to cool down and he explained what he had heard. The following day, I was on the phone to the DJ He asked if I could pass to see him and talk about the idea. I got to the station around 17:00pm introduced myself to Axel. We got chatting, and after stunning him with the UP's and down’s of the music business and giving him the full story of; "Curtis & Hodges / TMS". He simply replied, "this story can’t be told in five minutes, this calls for a 2 hour show". Well, if there was a time you could have knocked me out with a feather, it was then!

It was Friday evening, and that weekend must have been the longest in history. Monday, came the long awaited call?

"Hi it’s Axel… You’ve got four days to put your show together, is that all right"? What was I going to say, NO? I worked around the clock. I got in touch with Bernie in the U.K and told him to get on the next flight.

"What’s going on, Bernie asked"? C & H are going live, on a two hour special at St: Tropez Radio I replied.

Hear the "LIVE" Radio St: Tropez-unplugged version of; ONE SIDED LOVE:

17th January 2003. we were going live but the great thing about it, all the songs were Curtis & Hodges compositions dating from 1978 to 2003. Total panic just seconds before 15:00pm, then it seemed like in a flash, we were saying to the listeners, thank you very much for tuning in and hope you’ve enjoyed the show. 17:00pm.

Axel then announced the following programme being broadcast direct from Europe 2– Paris.
